As of July 2023, the last 20 stainless steel broad gauge coaches exported from China CNR to Bangladesh were unloaded at Chittagong Port; till then, all 100 stainless steel broad gauge coaches exported from CNR to Bangladesh have arrived in Bangladesh.

These vehicles will be used in Bangladesh’s Padma Bridge Railway Link Project. Bangladesh Padma Bridge, Railway Link Project, is a model of “One Belt, One Road” cooperation between China and Bangladesh, which promotes the prosperous development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The vehicles customized by China CNR for Bangladesh fully consider Bangladesh’s natural environment and train operation requirements.

For the first time in China’s export buses, the heterogeneous steel welded structure of ferritic stainless steel is applied as the primary material of the body. The longitudinal beams and side columns are used in the side walls, which significantly improves the flatness of the side walls of the body, and the appearance of the body is more beautiful; inside the vehicle, new technologies and designs such as built-in side doors, split-type large ventilation shutters, roof water injection, and ecological commode collection system are applied, which realizes the goals of better structure, lower energy consumption, a more comfortable ride, and more convenient maintenance. New technologies and designs have realized the purposes of better structure, lower energy consumption, and more comfortable ride.
The project was launched in August 2021, and in September 2022, the first batch of vehicles was successfully rolled out of the production line at CSR Tangshan and delivered to users on time, with quality and quantity guaranteed. As of July 2023, a total of 59 buses have completed the online dynamic test, of which 44 buses have been put into passenger operation in April this year, providing safe and reliable operation services on three routes, namely, Chihatali Express, Benapol Express and Sundarban Express in Bangladesh. All the vehicles online are in good running condition, effectively alleviating the pressure of local railroad traffic and bringing the local people a high-quality and comfortable traveling experience.
CSR will continue to practice the “Belt and Road” initiative, give full play to its technical and industrial advantages, and provide good services for the rail transportation users in Bangladesh.
